My philosophy and approach

My philosophy

One of my favorite authors is social scientist Margaret Wheatley. She says we can't know what we can create until we get out there and interact with the world. As a coach, I help people build their strengths, overcome blocks and gain the courage to do what they need to do to reach their goals. It's a partnership where I listen and help people uncover their true goals and invent a plan to get there.

Are you doing all the right things but not getting the results you know you can generate? Very often, people know what they need to do. But without a strong sense of presence and the "beingness" to connect with others, the results we expect don't happen and we are frustrated. I work with a person's ontology — their 'beingness' — which can bring quantum leaps in results and interactions with others.

Creating a vision, declaring your intentions and living your commitments are powerful reasons to hire a coach. I provide a confidential, objective listening space for people to build their dreams and take steps to reach them. I also hold clients accountable for their commitments.

My approach

How does coaching work?

Together we will identify three — four major goals to focus on and we typically work together for at least six months. Coaching sessions are one-hour each for three — four times per month, depending on accomplishments desired.

During a coaching call, we will work together to invent and create the future you want. We explore your thoughts, language and practices related to these goals and align your actions to accomplish your goals.

As a coach, I will ask questions to help you clarify what you want and guide you to make the changes you need to achieve the results you want. Coaching does require stretching and growing — thinking, saying and doing the same things will not get you different results.

We work from a customized coaching plan that will guide our sessions. In between sessions, you will have self-observation exercises and/or reading related to the goals you want to achieve.

Professional, goal-focused coaching with a practical approach you can relate to. You can expect to learn about yourself, discover hidden talents and develop courage to go for those goals you thought weren't possible.
