This is the fourth year that I have written this newsletter. I appreciate your support and your feedback. In case you were wondering, there were no newsletters in January or February as I took a few months off from the newsletter.
New subscribers are welcome so feel free to forward this on to your colleagues and friends.
SALES TIP OF THE MONTH: Add Laughter to Your
Day to Stay Motivated
January and February have been very busy getting projects off the ground, finishing business plans, getting started with new clients who want to make sure they make their plan this year.
So I've found myself working hours too intensely and realized I wasn't enjoying my work as much as I usually do.
To overcome this stress, I declared that I would have fun and laugh every day. This isn't always easy with multiple priorities and deadlines to meet. However, if you develop a practice to laugh everyday, in the long run you will be much healthier and happier.
There are easy ways to build fun into your life. Here are some ideas for you to get started.
- Smile
- Take a break
- Declare a health and well being day (don't wait until you get sick like I did)
- Have coffee with a friend
- Look up a joke on the internet here is a site for clean jokes: http://www.ajokeaday.com/.
You'll find jokes like:
Heard on an airline flight announcement: "As you exit the plane, make sure to gather all of your belongings. Anything left behind will be distributed evenly among the flight attendants. Please do not leave children or spouses."
Confucius say "Man who stands on toilet is high on pot."
And about the office scene: "Do you believe in life after death?" the boss asked one of his employees. "Yes, sir," the clerk replied. "That's good," the boss said. "After you left early yesterday to go to your grandmother's funeral, she stopped in to see you."
Now that you've had a few chuckles I'm glad to say I've helped you be healthier today. Adding laughter to your day has proven health benefits.
According to research presented to the American College of Cardiology and cited on website, www.eurekalert.org:
Laughter really may be the best medicine, according to research presented to the American College of Cardiology. Laughing appears to boost your blood flow and researchers say it may reduce your risk of developing heart disease.1
But the benefits of laughing don't stop with your heart: laughing has previously been found to help fight infections, relieve hay fever, ease pain and help control diabetes.
What did this study find?
The researchers found that laughing increased blood flow by more than 20 percent a similar effect to that of aerobic activity.1 The positive effect of laughing lasted for 30-45 minutes.
In contrast, stress decreased the flow by about 35 percent.1
Almost everyone seems to benefit from having a good laugh:1
- 95 percent of the volunteers in the study (19 out of 20) had better blood flow after watching a comedy movie clip
- 70 percent (14 out of 20) had a worse blood flow after watching a stressful film sequence

You'll find that as you relax and add fun and laughter to your day, not only will you be more productive, but you'll also be healthier and attract more of what you want. And I'll bet you a new presidential dollar that you'll sell more and grow your business.
Send me your favorite joke and I'll publish it and your name in my next newsletter in April.
